Job Description: The position will include work in the curatorial laboratory with an emphasis on photography of artifacts for the museum database and a virtual exhibit. Other tasks include collections management (data entry, assistance with storage facility, patron assistance, inventory research), preservation and conservation of artifacts and buildings (restoration and painting of buildings, cleaning artifacts and lab), exhibit installation (gallery preparation, assistance with labels and moving cases and artifacts), small research projects (possible research, writing), and participation in museum events (demonstrations and exhibit openings). NOTE: Some lifting and ladder climbing may be required, although safety is always the priority. Qualifications: The applicant must be a full-time student returning to studies in the fall. Demonstrated experience with photography and Photoshop is essential. A background in Anthropology, History, Art History, Fine Arts, Museum Studies or related field is preferred. NOTE: This position is grant dependent (Young Canada Works). There is no guarantee that this position will be granted or when we will be informed of the acceptance of the grant.
