The Night Auditor will be expected to exceed guests’ expectations and ensure satisfaction using professional interpersonal skills and product knowledge. They will be fully responsible for ending and starting every day, ensuring all reports are accurate and sent to the proper recipients nightly.
As a Night Auditor, your key responsibilities will be to ensure total satisfaction of our hotel guests and that each guest is handled with a professional, efficient and welcomed attitude, demonstrate a working knowledge of all services and facilities of the hotel as well as the local surrounding area, attractions and special events, greet, register, and assign rooms to guests, be well versed with RSI, verify customers' credit, and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation, compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests, perform simple bookkeeping activities, issue room keys and escort instructions to Bellman, review accounts and charges with guests during the check-out process, post charges, such those for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, transmit and receive messages, complete and confirm reservations, arrange tours, taxis, or restaurant reservations for guests, show a strong concern for guest security, deposit guests' valuables in hotel safe-deposit box, provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person, prepare detailed reports on audit findings, examine and analyze accounting records to determine financial status of establishment and prepare financial reports concerning operating procedures, handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, report any damage, unsafe conditions or broken equipment to the proper department supervisors, ensure you are up to date, implement and act upon health and safety measures, WHMIS training, security issues and emergency procedures, and performs other duties as required and/or requested by direct Supervisor or upper Management.
Requirements for this position would include having a high school diploma, experience as a Night Auditor and accounting experience is an asset, must be able to work overnight, good mathematical, problem solving, verbal and written skills good basic computer skills, the ability to work well on multiple tasks simultaneously, to cope with stress, show self-control when under pressure, ability to work accurately and in an organized manner with a strong emphasis on detail with minimal to no supervision, to be result-orientated, possess interpersonal skills to achieve personal and departmental goals while promoting a health and safety work environment, ability to be friendly, cheerful and professional in all instances, to interact easily with guests and co-workers, and have a full understanding that honesty, integrity and respect are essential to this position.
