HR Facts

This year, the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council  CTHRC  has partnered with the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) and will be presenting two HR sessions at the 2013 Tourism Congress, December 2-4 at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa.

These two sessions are an excellent source of information on current issues and HR best practices in the tourism and hospitality industry in Canada today.

International Gateway: Serving Guests and Working with a Diverse Workforce
(Tuesday, December 3) Increased numbers of international travelers and of new Canadians in the workforce present a unique set of challenges and opportunities for tourism and hospitality operators. This session will cover best practices with welcoming international visitors and on-boarding new Canadians.

Thinking Beyond Temporary Foreign Workers
(Wednesday, December 4) In April 2013, the Canadian government announced reforms to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program that will make it more difficult to hire temporary foreign workers and require employers to hire and train Canadians. This session will address recruitment options available to employers in the tourism and hospitality industry.

The Tourism Congress is the premier gathering of professionals with an interest in the future of Canada's Tourism and Hospitality industry. Check out the Full Program, and Register Today for this excellent networking and professional development opportunity.
