MTEC Launches "Manitoba BEST Ambassador Program"
The new Manitoba BEST Ambassador Program is launching on June 30th.
MTEC will now deliver Manitoba BEST Service Excellence as a
stand-alone, customer service, 6 hour workshop. Winnipeg BEST Ambassador
Program and Manitoba BEST Ambassador Programs will be 3 hour workshops
that will provide the knowledge and tools necessary for an employee to
become an ambassador for Winnipeg, as well as the rest of the province.
The Manitoba BEST Ambassador participants will learn about
how to promote the diverse regions of the province, including the
Northern, Westman, Parkland, Interlake, Pembina Valley Central Plains,
Eastman Regions and Winnipeg.
As tourism continues to increase in our province, we want all
communities to benefit from these new visitors. We want people to be
aware of the amazing and unique things this province has to offer, in
Winnipeg and throughout the regions. We need them to receive
exceptional customer service from well-trained and knowledgeable
employees, if we want these visitors to enjoy their stay with us and
return in the future!
There is still time to train your employees for the 20,000
visitors expected to attend the Canada Summer Games July 28 - August 13,
2017.

3-Part Training Series for Event Coordinators & Planners
Whether you are new to the industry or established in
your career, MTEC's 3-Part Training Series for Event Coordinators &
Planners will provide the tools to assist you in planning the event from
start to finish, covering areas such as administration, marketing,
human resources, risk management and more!
This 3 part series will be very beneficial for those of
you who may not have the title of Event Planner, but you are the person
in your organization who performs that function as part of your
position.
Events can be anything from an annual golf tournament or AGM to a wedding!
The training is based on National Occupational Standards and
participants receive a comprehensive Emerit Event Coordinator Workbook.
The next 3-Part Series for Event Coordinators & Planners will be on June 9, 16th and 23rd from 9:00am-4:00pm.

The Manitoba Tourism Education College
Great careers begin at MTEC!
Register now for the next training programs beginning on June 19th, 2017.
The Manitoba Tourism Education College (MTEC) is a
recognized post-secondary institution that is registered with Manitoba
Education and Training, Advanced Learning Division. The College offers 6
and 8 week comprehensive training programs for needed positions in the
hospitality and retail industries in Manitoba.
All of the training is delivered in the classroom, with a
portion of the Line Cook Training Program delivered in a commercial
kitchen. Training focuses on the essential skills required to perform in
all of the positions. Students not only gain the education and skill to
perform these jobs, they will have gained practical experience through
their work practicum.
- Front Desk Clerk - 6 Week Training Program
- Retail Sales Associate - 6 Week Training Program
- Housekeeping Room Attendant - 6 Week Training Program
Training Programs can be combined and students will graduate with training and experience in 2 or more occupations.
