What's New
Don't Lose Your Customers To Your CompetitionStatistics
show that only 4% of dissatisfied customers ever complain. This means
that a business may never hear from 96% of its customers and of those
customers 91% just go away because they feel that complaining will not
do them any good. It costs five to six times more to attract new
customers than to keep old ones. Additionally, customer loyalty and the
lifetime value of a customer can be worth up to 10 times as much as the
price of a single purchase. The
good news is that businesses that provide superior customer service and
achieve customer loyalty can charge more, realize greater profits, and
increase their market share. In fact, you can gain an average of 6% a
year in market share simply by providing quality service: satisfying and
keeping your customers. Properly
handling a difficult situation ensures that the customer's needs are
met, making them feel valued. When this happens, they usually turn into
long term customers. Research suggests that there is a connection
between customer retention and profitability. Long term customers tend
to: buy more, are predictable, usually cost less to service than new
customers, tend to be less price sensitive, and may provide free
word-of-mouth advertising and referrals. Don't
risk losing a valued customer to your competition because a difficult
situation not properly being dealt with. One of MTEC's most popular
workshops is Handling Difficult Situations. As a business owner, manager
or supervisor, you will learn how important these skills are for your
staff, your customers and your business. Please join us for the next Handling Difficult Situations workshop on November 14, 2014, from 9:00am-12:00pm, $40.00+GST/person. For more information or to register, please contact us by email at register@mtec.mb.ca, or by phone at 204-957-7437.

Safety Corner
New Worker Orientation Basics
As
of April 1 2014 new protections have been put in place to increase the
safety and health of new workers, and those in high risk occupations,
along with stronger penalties for employers who are found to put workers
safety at risk. Part 2.2.1(3) of The Manitoba Workplace Safety and
Health Regulation MR217/06 now requires employers to provide
workplace-specific safety and health orientation training before a new
worker begins work at a workplace or returns to a workplace where
hazards have changed during the workers absence.
This
workshop will provide you with the information and tools you need to
create your own workplace-specific safety and health orientation by
following criteria set out in the new regulation, as well as how to
properly document your new workers training.
This workshop is geared towards anyone assigned to provide orientation/training to a new worker.
