MTEC was honoured to coordinate and host the employABILITY Expo - Supporting Inclusive Employment for Manitobans with Disabilities. The expo was held on October 21st at the Victoria Inn Hotel & Convention Centre.

There were 24 exhibitors displaying the jobs, resources and programs available for Manitobans with disabilities.

Thank you to all that attended, sponsors and core funder; Province of Manitoba Jobs and the Economy.
We look forward to another exciting event next year!

Succession Planning for Long-Term Sustainability

Are you hiring employees that, with training and experience, will be able to be promoted into supervisory and management positions? Are you providing opportunities for your employees to grow within your organization? If you aren't, you may be training your employees for jobs with your competitors.
With all of the new hotels, restaurants and retailers in Manitoba competing not only for your customers, but also for your employees, you want to make sure that yours remain loyal to your business. Retaining well-trained employees is critical to the short and long-term sustainability of your business. Employees need to see an opportunity for advancement without having to go elsewhere to be recognized.
MTEC will be offering this new session complimentary for one time only!

Safety Corner
Supervisor Safety

A "supervisor" means a person who has charge of a workplace or authority over a worker.
Workers are often promoted or work their way up to a Supervisor/Manager position through knowledge, experience or seniority. They are very often not informed of their safety roles and responsibilities, therefore could be held criminally responsible for any safety incidents that occur under their direct supervision, or in their department.

Part 4.1 of the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act clearly defines the duties and obligations all supervisors/managers should know in regards to safety and health in the workplace.
This workshop will cover key areas of; the Act & Regulation, responsibilities, incident costs, risk assessments, job hazard analysis, safe work procedures, hazard identification and other safety aspects all supervisors/managers need to know.

For more information call us at 204-694-SAFE (7233) or email info@safehospitality.com.
