Attention Event Coordinators & Planners!
Are you the one in your office that plans and coordinates the annual golf tournament, conference or AGM?
Whether
you are new to the industry or established in your career, MTEC's 3-
Part Training Series for Event Coordinators and Planners will provide
the tools to assist you in planning an event from start to finish,
covering areas such as administration, marketing, human resources, risk
management and more!
This series will also be very beneficial for
those of you who may not have the title of 'Event Planner', but you are
the person in your organization that performs that function as part of
your position.
The next series begins on October 30 . Seats are still available!
Even
if your event is already scheduled, it's not too late to make sure that
you haven't missed anything, like proper insurance
coverage. You don't know what you don't know.
There are many
things in organizing and coordinating an event that can be missed that
could directly impact on the success of the event.
A comprehensive emerit
Event Coordinator Workbook, valued at $85.00, is included in the
course. Our upcoming workshop series will be held on October 30,
November 6 and November 13, 2015.
For more details on the course please click here .

Safety Corner
SAFE Hospitality Needs Your Support!
MTEC has been administering the SAFE Hospitality Program for over
10 years. SAFE Hospitality is a safety program funded by a small levy
administered by the WCB on the Restaurant and Food Services industry.
The program currently offers free training, information and
resources customized to support safe workplaces in the hospitality
industry. Since 2010 SAFE Hospitality has trained over 4000 individuals
in the Restaurant and Food Services industry and beyond. Like all of
MTEC training, our reach goes further than the hospitality industry. We
know that a result of safety training and consulting, many workplaces
are safer and have a reduction of accidents and injuries.
SAFE Work Manitoba, of the WCB, is requiring support from
employers in the Restaurant and Food Services industry to confirm the
value and continue the SAFE Hospitality program.
SAFE Work Manitoba is also recommending extension of the SAFE
Hospitality program to more sectors. This would involve seeking support
from employers in additional sectors once the base of support from
Restaurant and Food Services employers is confirmed.
*The average business in rate code 70106 pays the WCB $3,000.00
annually. Of that $3,000.00, 7% or $165.00, supports the safety
association.
Thank you for your continued support, Shannon Fontaine, CEO Manitoba Tourism Education Council (MTEC)
