National Food Safety Training Program

September 23rd, 8:30am-4:30pm

MTEC is pleased to announce that we will now be delivering the National Food Safety Training Program, through SAFE Hospitality. This Certification is recognized across Canada.

Restaurants Canada developed the National Food Safety Training Program in 2004 after seeing a growing demand for standardized food safety education from operators from coast to coast. The program is designed to train and certify employees of quick-service, full-service, chain and independent foodservice establishments to meet a national standard of food safety.

The 8 hour workshop includes a workbook and will be offered at our location and throughout Manitoba upon request.

Who should attend?

  • All owners, managers and supervisors of food service establishments.
  • All food service personnel who are responsible for the receiving, preparing and serving of food.

For more information, contact Han Tran, info@safehospitality.com or call (204) 694-SAFE (7233)

Professionalism for Life & Career Success

September 25, 9:00am-12:00pm

What does it mean to be a professional?

Our employers don't always tell us, but it's clear that true professionals are the first to be considered for promotions or plum projects, and are consistently successful in their life and work. For some, professionalism means dressing well at work. For others it means doing a good job. But professionalism includes so much more. Professionals are the kind of people that others value and respect.

In this hands-on workshop, learn about the qualities and characteristics of a professional. Explore the elements of professionalism and how it is "judged." Discover your professional strengths, and learn strategies to build professionalism in areas where there is potential for you to grow.

To register please contact MTEC at 204-957-7437 or email register@mtec.mb.ca.

* Understand the importance and benefits of presenting oneself in a professional manner
* Be able to prepare and deliver a quality dining experience from start to finish
* Learn how to deal with concerns and complaints in an effective manner

Whether you are new to the industry or established in your career, MTEC's 3- Part Training Series for Event Coordinators and Planners will provide the tools to assist you in planning an event from start to finish, covering areas such as administration, marketing, human resources, risk management and more!

This series will also be very beneficial for those of you who may not have the title of 'Event Planner', but you are the person in your organization who performs that function as part of your position, ie: organizing the annual golf tournament, AGM, conference, etc.

The 3 part series was developed using the national occupational standards for event coordinator to provide those attending information on areas such as administration skills, marketing, event coordination, risk management, human resources, communication, and professionalism.

A comprehensive emerit Event Coordinator Workbook, valued at $85.00 is included.

Our upcoming workshop series will be held on October 17, October 24 and October 31. For a registration form, please click here
