Position Overview: Reporting to the Manager, Facility Services, the Assistant Manager, Facility Services will play a crucial role in overseeing the planning and execution of set-up services for all events. This position requires a highly organized individual with strong attention to detail ensuring all set-up logistics for events are efficiently coordinated for a flawless guest experience.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with clients to ensure all physical event arrangements, including Set-up (equipment delivery, setting, and removal) and EVS (cleaning and floor maintenance), meet their satisfaction.
• Assists in the planning, organizing and the directing of team members to ensure the highest degree of customer satisfaction through the efficient and effective delivery of Set-up services.
• Supervises and supports Set-up and EVS staff in daily activities, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services, while maintaining high standards of professionalism, customer service, accuracy (furniture and equipment sets), and cleanliness (EVS tasks).
• Oversees and assigns daily tasks for shift leads, ensuring smooth communication and coordination within the Set-up department and adherence to established procedures.
• Leads weekly events meeting, ensuring effective communication and coordination of plans across all impacted departments
• Supervises Set-up staff in line with established procedures, and adherence to the Collective Agreement.
• Supervises cleaning and upkeep efforts tied to pre-function space floors and carpeting as well as the surrounding grounds of the facility as necessary.
• Assists in payroll functions, such as scheduling, time log approval, overtime, and leave requests.
• Maintains and updates equipment inventory, ensuring proper maintenance, and communicate damages or shortages to initiate repair/replacement processes.
• Promotes safety practices and contribute to a positive guest experience within the department.
• Develops and enforces standard operating procedures and participate in ongoing training initiatives.
• Completes regular building inspections and ensure the timely resolution of outstanding items.


Qualifications and Requirements:
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in event set-up and client services, within a large, multi-purpose event facility.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a supervisory capacity.
• Advanced organization and problem-solving skills with an ability to handle high stress situations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with all department levels and staff.
• Familiarity of MS Suite (Word/Excel), Teams, Outlook and event management/floor plan programs is an asset.
• A strong guest service approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences.
• Requires open availability; ability to work mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
