| DESCRIPTION: | Lazy Bear Expeditions is seeking a full-time mechanic with 5+ years of experience to join our team in Churchill, Manitoba. This position provides a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of northern Manitoba while working with a dedicated team. Please note that this is not a typical shop environment. We operate 7 days a week, have a diverse work environment, and the work hours can be long. The primary focus will be on maintenance of our heavy-duty equipment and maintaining the core equipment used for daily operation. Job duties include but are not limited to: Working alongside the lead mechanic and shop foreman Repairing heavy-duty equipment, buses, passenger vehicles, watercraft, boats of various sizes, recreational vehicles, and other off-road equipment Completing preventative maintenance and ensuring all equipment operates safely Maintaining a clean and organized workspace Job Requirements: 5+ years of experience as a mechanic Diverse mechanical aptitude Valid driver's license Ability to work independently or as a team with safety in mind Strong problem-solving & diagnosis, communication, and teamwork skills Proficiency using various types of tools Although we have a well-equipped new shop, “field work” is often necessary Willingness to work in all weather conditions Comfortable with remote living On-call availability Additional Benefits: Staff housing Meals included when the lodge restaurant is open Optional extended time off during winter months Possible employment for a spouse Salary based on experience 26.00 to 50.00 hourly (To be negotiated) |
