DESCRIPTION: Summary:

The Training and Event Coordinator plans, coordinates and provides support for the implementation of all MCCA training, learning and event opportunities in order to achieve MCCA ENDS and strategic outcomes. In tandem with the MCCA team, the Training and Event Coordinator plans, markets, and delivers training and event programming for membership. This role also includes meeting with members, assessing needs, and representing MCCA in recruiting and supporting membership.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administration

General
• Plan, coordinate and provide support for all training and event opportunities
• Create event proposals which fit organizational requirements
• Prepare and deliver proposals for all MCCA customized training requests and event opportunities
• Work with team to create and maintain internal documents to ensure clarity of process and tracking as required
• Identify training and event needs through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with members and their respective human resource departments
• Design and expand training and event programs based on the needs of member organizations
• Consider the costs of planned programs and keep within budgets as well as assessing the return on investment of any training and event programs
• Participate in an annual performance review process

Meetings
• Attend meetings as needed to garner new members and new training and event opportunities
• Serve an active role on committees and attend meetings that further MCCA’s commitment to supporting a more diverse and inclusive workforce

Governance
• Provide ongoing support for all MCCA governance initiatives and strategic direction
Membership
• Maintain positive relationships with existing and future members to ensure their needs are being addressed and met whenever possible
o Promote the value and benefits of membership with MCCA through social media platforms, meetings attended and other avenues that present themselves
o Engage members in MCCA events, news and networking opportunities – both virtual and face to face

Planning
• Work with MCCA team to plan and deliver the overall training program and events activities in accordance with the mission and goals of the organization as well as other relevant legislature and professional standards
• Work with MCCA team to develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization
• Amend and revise programs as necessary, in order to adapt to changes occurring in the work environment
• Keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending relevant courses
• Identify and form appropriate partnerships to enhance and increase program participation


Event Coordination
• Establish standardized event procedures and train staff/volunteers
• Handle event inquiries, registration details and maintenance of event records
• Manage and oversee events including problem-solving, welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, and organising vendors
• Coordinate event entertainment, including music, performers, and guest speakers
• Track event key performance areas and identify items to work on for future events
• Maintain a working relationship with vendors and venues
• Assist with debrief sessions to assess the strengths/weaknesses of events and identify areas for future improvements
• Creating sales opportunities for future events during client liaisons and during events, including possessing a strong working knowledge of the company to further these sales opportunities

Marketing
• Participate in the development of marketing materials that support all MCCA’s programs/training/events
• Deliver awareness sessions and attend career fairs, conventions and other networking opportunities to promote MCCA and the opportunities that the organization offers
• Liaise with organizations to facilitate discussion on training and event development for the Industry
• Work with MCCA team on website and social media platforms with relevant information
• Create awareness through industry tours, awards galas, trade shows and career fairs
• Network with like- minded organizations to facilitate discussion on training and events for the industry including awareness and career opportunities
