| DESCRIPTION: | Hosts are responsible for being the initial face of SMITH Restaurant in an approachable, kind, and professional manner. Your job is to make guests feel welcomed, cared for, and valued. You are there to create a warm and welcoming environment from the moment a guest steps into our establishment. You are required to provide exceptional customer service to all guests. You will be welcoming guests to the venue, providing accurate wait times, monitoring wait lists, and making reservations. Responsibilities will also include balancing covers in sections throughout the restaurant, managing flow of service with the kitchen, answering the phone and learning our reservation system. For this role, you should have strong organizational skills, problem solving skills, and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they enter SMITH, to when they depart. Being a team player and effective communicator is also an asset. Weekend availability is a must, with a minimum of 3 days per week and the flexibility to be cross trained in other support positions.
