Retail Theft: Protecting Staff & Customers ZOOM
Date(s): Thursday, March 13, 2025
Time: 9:00am-12:00pm
Length: 3 hours
Location: MTEC Training Centre
Cost: $99.00 (plus GST)
Description:

Because of the continued escalation in crime impacting the tourism, hospitality and retail industry in Manitoba, MTEC once again partnered with the Winnipeg Police Service and security consultant from private industry, who was a former WPS Sargeant, to develop a comprehensive training program that includes a video that will be added to our on-line training.

The main goal of the MTEC Safety training is to keep your employees, customers and business safe.  No item’s value is worth someone being injured and a theft can quickly escalate into a robbery if an employee or customer tries to stop the thief.

Unfortunately, there are more armed robberies throughout the province and these robberies are taking place all hours of the day, in areas that traditionally were considered safe.

Retail Theft : Protecting Staff & Customers is a new session that provides ideas for ways you can set up and operate your business to dissuade potential thieves from targeting your business.

If your business has experienced a theft or robbery, your business and staff involved are victims. Victim’s rights are explained during the training.

This training is valuable for any business, but geared towards all retail businesses, restaurants and hotels with vendors.

Owners, managers and supervisors should take this training in-person or when available on-line.  Businesses want their staff and customers to feel and be safe, and if they don’t, they risk losing them.

*This training session is currently being offered free of charge.
