•Module 1 focuses on how to respond to difficult situations to prevent the situation from escalating. One of the main goals of the first module is for you to be able to properly deal with a difficult situation and reach a mutually acceptable resolution; continuing to support your business where possible.
 
•Some situations may escalate beyond your ability to ensure the safety and well-being of yourself, your co-workers and your customers, and may require calling 911. This will be covered in Module 2.

Description:
The Handling Difficult Situations and when you shouldn’t ... training program will assist employees and managers in dealing with difficult situations both within your establishment as well as with customers. It will also provide some strategies of when to recognize situations that require an escalation to authorities.

Employees will learn how to identify and defuse difficult situations, explore the benefits of professionally handling difficult situations and develop strategies to manage behaviours by defusing emotion and resolving difficult situations.

Handling Difficult Situations and when you shouldn’t ... is a 75 minute online training program with an exam to assess the participant’s skill awareness at the end. The pass rate is 100% (unlimited retests) and is FREE for businesses in the Hotel, Restaurant and Retail industries in Manitoba.
